Can't install Flash Player [RESOLVED]
Primary tabs
Tearing my hair out this morning after a Flash application refused to play, and insisted that I update the version I was already running.
Fair enough, I thought, and went to the Flash site, downloaded the package and prepared to install.
But each time I've had a prompt to say me that I need to free up 5000 KB of free space to install it. This is when I've got something like 60GB knocking about on my system drive.
Anyway, I spent a couple minutes or so discovering that the problem is that Flash Player needs to be installed to C: drive, and my main drive is labelled i: (for reasons too complicated to go into here).
More annoying, I've spent best part of 90 minutes searching for a workround that will actually work. Arrggh!
I've tried using the subst command, tried changing the name of my system drive using the manage system prompt on My Computer, but to no joy.
Don't suppose anyone has any other suggestions that might work?
More pressingly, it would appear that Adobe have known about this flaw since the launch of Flash Player 10.
Why haven't they introduced a new installation mechanism - like with most programs - so that the user can decide where the application is installed?
Here's the links to the solutions I've found and failed to get to work so far:

UPDATE: I finally did get the package to work using a simple trick contained within the link: http://www.varesano.net/blog/fabio/installing+flash+player+plugin+firefo...
Simple, effective, and now YouTube videos work again. Hoorah! Now to get on with building some shelves and setting up the bedside lamps...
