Hi, and thank you for looking at my website. www.davidelks.com is a testbed for learning how to build an online presence, and any new web technology gubbins that I get to hear about..

Just so you know, I'm a journalist by training, and started out covering local news in Leek, Cheadle and Uttoxeter.

For six years I worked as a business reporter, analysing the world of companies in North Staffordshire and South Cheshire. We're talking Royal Doulton, Wedgwood, Caudwell Group and JCB, as well as countless start-ups looking to be the next John Caudwell.

Now, I've dropped the notebook and I'm now involved in online journalism. I'm no expert, but I can shoot video, play around in Photoshop, work up multimedia projects in Flash as well as getting my head around technologies ranging from CSS, Actionscript and AJAX.
