Keith Loutit: video maker with sharp focus on small-town life

Serendipity is great, especially on the internet when you find diamond videos like Bathtub IV by Keith Loutit.

I was aimlessly going through the list of blogs, newspapers and other gubbins I'm registered when I stumbled on this great short video based on life around Sydney, Australia. Just watch it, and you'll see what I mean.

See what I mean? I love the way it is shot, using the combination of speeded-up footage and some sort of shallow focus to make the film appear like a God game - Sim City, Populous. It's crafted into a beautiful story that is just a joy to watch.

It's particularly touching if you go to Keith Loutit's blog and read the comment from someone who was actually rescued after falling out to sea.

Truly inspiring stuff for a bright April morning.
